Claritin or loratadine is an antihistamine which decreases effects such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching and hives that are caused by a natural chemical histamine inside the body.

Make sure to inform your doctor right away if you experience serious side effects including: jaundice or the yellowing of the eyes or skin; a fast and uneven heart rate, a feeling as if you will be passing out; and seizures.
