Dosage and Administration of Generic Atrovent (bottle)

Use Atrovent (bottle) only as the doctor has directed. If you are unsure on how to use it, make sure to contact your doctor before using.

Before your first use, prime the pump by pointing the bottle upwards and away from your eyes, while spraying seven times. If the pump has not been used for more than a day, prime again through spraying it twice. If it has not been used for more than a week, prime again by spraying seven times.

Before using, blow your nose first if needed. Then, close one nostril with your finger and then tilt your head forward and while keeping the bottle upright, put the nasal tip in the other nostril. Press firmly and quickly with your thumb. With each spray, sniff deeply and then breathe through the mouth. If the nasal tip gets clogged, remove the dust cap and safety clip; then, run the nasal tip through running warm tap water for a minute. Afterwards, dry the nasal tip then re-prime the pump, and put the dust cap and the safety clip back.

If you miss a dose of Atrovent (bottle), make sure that you would be using it as soon as you remember. However, if the next dose is almost up, just skip the dose you missed and then go back to the schedule that you have. Never double the dose at one time.

If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical help right away.
